Wesley Mika

Wesley Mika was born July 31, 1945, in Asheville, NC to Wesley and Johanna (nee Buckowski) Mika, Sr. He died Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Mika was an Elementary School Teacher for the Lincoln and Miller Schools in Evanston School District 65, finishing his education career at Pope John XXIII. Wesley loved golf, gardening, good food, softball buddies, and a good yeasty beverage. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and was loved by all.

Wesley is survived by his wife, of 51 years, Susan (nee Meyer); children, Ross (Carolyn) Mika, Josh (Rachel) Mika and Judd Mika; grandchildren, Quinn Mika, Pierson Mika, Brooke Mika; and sister-in-law, Christy (Richard) Carson; and nephew Nick (Tessa) Carson. Cousins, Mike, Christopher, Tom (Darlene) Buck, Marian (Michael) Murphy, Karen (Richard) Friedberg, and Robert Wojtalewicz He was preceded into death by his parents.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 10:30 am until the 12:30 pm, with a memorial service to follow. The visitation and memorial service will be at First United Methodist Church, 1903 E. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be private.
