William J. Frankel

William J. Frankel, 89, was born January 13, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois to Hugo and Catherine (Fanning) Frankel. He died Friday, July 22, 2022, at Northwest Community Hospital, in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Bill was a salesman in the printing industry for many years before he retired.

He was a member and Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus, Holy Rosary Council #4483, Fr. Setters Council #1278, and a 4th-degree member of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Assembly #2410. He was an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Wayside Parish and school.

William is survived by his wife, Anita Frankel nee Hoffmann, whom he married on October 5, 1957, in Oak Park, Illinois; his children Bill (Marcia), Mark (Cheri), Jim (Donna), Don (Leann), MaryBeth (Bob) Buck, Karen (Mike) Schwalbach, and Brian (Kelly) Frankel; his grandchildren Jenny Hayden, Mandy Mason, Chris (Jessica) Frankel, Ryan Frankel, Amy, Bobby, and Kelly Frankel, Tressa and Jack Frankel, Matthew and Allison Buck, Karina Schwalbach, Lucas, and Jacob Frankel; his great-grandchildren Jasmine, Jace, Jakob, Quinn, and Elly; his brother, Lawrence (Mary) Frankel; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Frankel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, David; and his siblings Margaret (Charles) May, Catherine (Jack) Duff, Robert Frankel, Loretta Maran, Howard Frankel, Hugo Frankel, and Virginia Frankel.

Memorial Mass 11:00 am, Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. The family will receive guests starting at 10:00 am. Interment following at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Our Lady of the Wayside School.
