Survived by her husband King McGowan, son, Larry Benton, and daughter Lana Hewison. Survived by 8 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.

Avis McGowan will have a private inurnment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with close family and friends at a later time.
