Memorial service: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel. Interment: 12:30 p.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Charles was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Harlan, Ky., the son of Charles and Margaret Bevins. In 1950, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and rose to the rank of staff sergeant. He later graduated from the University of Kentucky. In 1956 he married the love of his life, Betty. Charles continued his career with the federal government, where he held various positions. He retired in 1979 after 23 years' service. He was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and college sports.
Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Betty; daughter, Deborah Hernandez; sons, Doug Bevins and wife, Dolores, and Mike Bevins and wife, Carrie; grandchildren, Joshua Ryan and Caitlin Taylor Hernandez, Charles Kegan and Jacob Douglas Bevins, Camryn Rene and Charles Michael Bevins; sister, Louise Tolson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
