It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Doris Jean Anderson Eanes, at the age of 85, in Arlington, Texas. Doris was born on October 12, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana and passed on April 29, 2025.
Throughout her life, Doris loved to travel. From being an Army wife who lived in places like California, South Carolina, Virginia, Kansas, and Texas . Many of her road trips would begin in Virginia and end in California with many stops along the way to visit friends and family.
Doris is survived by her 4 children: daughters, Deborah Stone, Sheila Donathan and Cynthia Eanes; and one son, Robert Eanes; 15 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. She dearly loved her family and often boasted about how “BIG” her family was.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Rachel Anderson; sister, Mary Spuhler; brothers, Kenneth F Anderson and her twin brother, David Anderson.
Doris had 2 crowning achievements in life that she spoke of fondly and frequently. One accomplishment was that she traveled to all 50 states. The last being a trip to Hawaii. The second was being a school bus driver. She never failed to mention the 72 children on her bus. Her excitement when she saw a school bus was contagious, even in her older years. Her face beamed with pride and joy at the sight of any yellow school bus.
A visitation for Doris will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016, followed by a funeral service from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
Though Doris, aka Mom, aka Granny, has left this world, her spirit and the memories we share will continue to live on in the lives of everyone she touched. May we find comfort in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
