

Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday in Southland Memorial Park, 1205 Southwest 3rd St., Grand Prairie. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home Bowen Road, 4216 South Bowen, Arlington.

Dorothy was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Corsicana to James Clanton and Louise Clanton Thomas. Dorothy grew up in Dallas with her mother, Louise, and stepfather, A.E. Thomas, attended school there, then met and married her husband Robert in 1942. Dorothy raised a family along with Robert, and worked in the Sulphur Springs school district for 20 years before retiring in 1986. Dorothy, Robert and family moved from the DFW area to rural Northeast Texas near Sulphur Springs in 1966 and lived there for 39 years before moving back to Fort Worth in 2005 to be closer to their daughters.
Dorothy was devoted to her husband and family and a wonderful person and friend. She had a warm heart and cheerful personality and was a joy to be around, until Alzheimer's disease struck her several years ago.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Phillips, and a daughter, Pamela J. Phillips.
Survivors: Daughters, Sandra McQueary of Arlington, Teresa Holton of Fort Worth; sister, Joyce Ellington of Owasso, Okla.; grandchildren, Kellie Blankenship and husband, Brian, Melissa Brown and husband, Kevin, and Christopher Holton; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Natalie, Kooper, Keira, Kaley; and many other family and friends.
