Obituary
Elva (Wally) Marie Hohman, passed on to be with her husband at age 80. Wally was born December 21, 1944 and died August 21, 2025. She was born into a big family in Lancaster, PA and died of a cardiac arrest in Forney, TX while doing what she loved, which was shopping for yarn at a Hobby Lobby.
Wally was preceded in death by her one true love, husband William (Bill) A. Hohman III. She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Lou Hall and Verna Angelo of Pennsylvania and her children William, Doris, John, and Marc. She is survived by her 13 grandchildren; Christian, Spenser, John Jr, Josh, Bethany, Brittany, Rebecca, Sarah, Addison, Emery, Oliver, Elliot and Blaire. Her five great grandchildren Natalie, Sarina, Ronan, Sawyer and Nathan always looked forward to spending time with her and getting to cheat on any parentally imposed candy and treat rules. She looked over all her children with a firm hand and a glowing heart. Wally loved crocheting, sewing, baking, and simply spending happy times with her loving family and friends. She was well known for always wearing items that reminded her of her husband’s service in the US Navy while her children would compete on every holiday to give her a nautical gift coupled with a box of tissues to see who could give her the first sweet sentimental tear.
Wally deeply loved her friends while working at Albertson’s and most assuredly boosted the stores sales with the long list of customers who would make it a point to catch her smile, warm hello, and quick scolding if they had the wrong store items or quantities in their buggy. Her constant mispronunciation of street and locations such as “Madlock” instead of “Matlock” would always generate a giggle with the loudest one coming from herself.
Anyone who knew her well shares the knowledge that she is most certainly standing in her husband's warm embrace, giving him the loving hug she yearned to give for the past thirteen years! We also think he is smiling with a wrinkled forehead wondering what totally unnecessary thing she bought that he planned to sell on eBay!
There will be a viewing for friends and family at the Moore Funeral home at 4216 S. Bowen Rd, South Arlington, TX on Wednesday evening August 27th from 6 – 8 PM.
