Eric was born on June 28, 1973 to Elfrieda Allen and James Harris, in St. Louis, Missouri. He began his education in the University City, Mo school system. He later moved to Texas and completed his education in the Arlington, Texas school system, graduating from Lamar High School in 1992. Eric excelled in sports playing football, basketball, and running track at an early age. He played on several championships teams and went on to play college basketball at Tarleton State University on scholarship, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
After graduating from college, Eric then enrolled at KD Studio Actor Conservatory, Dallas, Texas. He went on to complete their Acting Performance Program. Later, Eric was featured in several local plays, and he had a part in the television show, The West Wing and did a local commercial for Family First for channel 8 here in the DFW area. Eric moved to California to pursue his dreams in acting. He continued his studies at the Tasha Smith Actors Workshop, Sherman Oaks, California advancing to the Master Class.
At an early age Eric confessed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Eric leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Elfrieda Allen; father, James Harris; brothers, Terrell Randolph and Aarionne Harris; grandmothers, Lonzetta Taylor and Euarlene Harris; aunt, Roslyn Dehorney; uncle, Travis Dehorney; nephews, Calliedrie Williams and Kendrick Goodwin; cousins, Justin Polk, William Dehorney and Colin Dehorney; along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends.
A visitation for Eric will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. Visitation prior to the funeral service will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral service will occur Friday, October 27, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A committal service will occur Friday, October 27, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
