

Frances E. Williams, 94, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on April 29, 2026. Born August 6, 1931, in Canton, Mississippi, she was Frances Elizabeth Varnado, and throughout a long life she carried herself with steady dignity, guided by deep devotion to God and family.
Frances graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, Texas, and later earned an associate’s degree from East Texas Baptist University. She dedicated her working life to education with the Texarkana, Texas Independent School District, serving with the kind of quiet professionalism and constancy that leaves a lasting mark on a community.
On May 29, 1952, Frances married Ernest E. Williams. She found joy in life’s simple, gracious pleasures—flowers, golf, and tennis—and she brought the same care and attentiveness to those interests as she did to the people she loved.
She is survived by Becky Berry, Ernie Williams, Doug Williams, and Cindy Williams; and by her grandchildren Shane, Tiffany, Jamie, Paul, Greg, Jessica, Heath, Holly, Julia, Cooper, Spencer, and Parker. She is also survived by 31 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Williams; her sister, Betty; and her parents, Cecil and Nell Varnado.
A Committal Service will be held at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211, on May 13, 2026, at 10:00 am.
