Guy Daniel Gribble

24 septiembre, 1959 – 26 octubre, 2020
Obituario de Guy Daniel Gribble
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home

On October 26, 2020 the world lost a Father, Grandfather, Husband, and Friend. Guy Daniel Gribble passed from this world into the peace and embrace of his heavenly father at his home.

Guy was born on September 24, 1959 to Patricia and William Gribble. The oldest of two children, his sister Gloria predeceased him in 2015. Guy married his childhood sweetheart, Denise, in 1985, had three children (William, Shannon, and Hannah) and three grandchildren (Nathaniel, Connor, and Mason).

A born adventurer, Guy graduated from Oxnard High School and attended the Army's Warrant Officer Candidate Aviator program as the youngest candidate in his class. Earning his wings in 1978, Guy was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas as an Aeroscout pilot flying the OH-58s. Never satisfied with the minimum while working full-time, Guy earned: a bachelors in Economics, fixed-wing commercial pilot rating and his basic, advanced, instrument, and multi-engine FAA flight instructor ratings.

Guy then attended Navy Aviation OCS in Pensacola, FL, earning his Naval Aviator Wings in 1986. Guy was assigned to the USS Midway (in Yokosuka, Japan) as an A-6E attack pilot. Guy so distinguished himself during night carrier landings, he was selected to be an instructor pilot with VA-128. In 1991, Guy transitioned to the Navy Reserve and spent 25 years flying with American Airlines until cancer grounded him. Never giving up, while Guy fought cancer he taught international flight operations to corporate and commercial pilots.

Excelling as a storyteller, Guy entertained friends and family with humorous tales while they rolled their eyes and laughed. Guy enjoyed building things with his grandsons and adventuring with his family throughout the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific. If you had the privilege to meet Guy, your heart and soul was forever changed for the better.

Guy's cremation will be laid to rest in the Pacific Ocean to overwatch the next generation of Naval Aviators in the very waters he flew.

In lieu of flowers, Guy has asked that donations be made in his honor to the American Red Cross, Army Emergency Relief Fund, or the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society.
