It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joe Fred Bunte, Jr. in Arlington, Texas, born in Galveston, Texas, who passed away on October 10, 2023 at the age of 73. He fought hard to live a life with grace and humor while battling MS for 23 years.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
Fred met his wife of 52 years, Suzanne, while they were students at UTA. Fred was a great athlete who played several sports. He was a wonderful man who cared for everyone with a generous heart.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Fred Bunte and Allena Still Bunte; and his brother, Larry Bunte.
He is survived by: his wife, Suzanne Williams Bunte; his children, Sam Bunte (Amy) of Sanford, Florida, Jay Bunte (Ellen) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Ben Bunte (Michelle) of Centennial, Colorado; his grandchildren, Lane, Allie, Linden, and Alex; his sister, Kathy White (Charlie); his brother-in-law, Larry Williams (Vickie); and his uncle, Gerald Still (Martha). Fred is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
