Louis Michael Acker, 83, of Grand Prairie, TX passed away July 12, 2025. He was born in Dimmitt Texas on February 8, 1942 to Val and Margaret Acker, and was 1 of 9 children. Louis graduated from Nazareth High School. After honorably serving in the Air Force, he worked as a helicopter inspector at Bell Helicopter for over 32 years. Upon retirement, he was able to enjoy spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and relied on his faith during hard times as well as good times. Louis enjoyed hunting, fishing, Texas Tech football and old cowboy movies. Louis was married to Pamela Acker on May 13, 1989. He is survived by Erika Acker, Julie Rogers and Charles Oliphant. His grandchildren include Zoe Myers; Noah, Caleb, Elliott and Adan Rogers, and Cora, Alec and Miya Wolverton. He is also survived by his sisters, May Hochstein and Joan Meltcher. Rosary to be said on July 25, 2025 at 12:30 pm with funeral mass following at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth Texas. Graveside service to occur at Dallas National Cemetery on July 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm with internment following.
