Michael is survived by his wife of almost 26 years, Glenda Gibson; his children, Kevin and his wife Peggy, Christopher and his wife Kim, Bradford and his ex-wife Monda, and Jessica and her husband David; his grandchildren, Colton, Cody, Chase, Claire, Reagan, Shelbi, Tristin, Hunter and Tucker; his great-grandchildren, Kali and Casey; his step-children, Kelly and her husband Chris, and Kristin and her husband Jerry; his step-grandchildren, Cody and his wife Ginnie, and Katelyn and her husband Jake. He is predeceased by his wife of almost 35 years, Molly Stuart, his daughter Bethany and his parents Gerald and Hildegard.
Michael was born in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1938 and attended Youngstown State University where he received a degree in Education. He then went on to Geneva College where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He served our country in the Marine Corps. He taught high school mathematics while getting his Engineering degree. He was a Senior Construction Engineer for many years in the Planning and Engineering Department of the D/FW International Airport. After retirement, he also helped build an airport in Nigeria. Michael had a beautiful singing voice and loved singing in the Glee Club at Youngstown State, the U.S.M.C. choir, and for almost 40 years in the St. Barnabas UMC choir. He volunteered at the American Legion and built friendships with many veterans over the years.
When not singing with the choir, Michael’s happiest moments undoubtedly occurred at Texas Rangers games, especially during the National Anthem, and spending time with his children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, telling stories, helping with projects, and building things.
Michael was a strong, compassionate man who cared deeply for all those in his life. Whether he was caring for his wives as they battled cancer or helping to care for his grandchildren after retirement, he was always a solid rock for those he loved.
The family of Michael is at peace knowing that he is no longer afflicted by the debilitating disease of Dementia. While his mind and body had faded here on Earth, they know that in his Heavenly body he is once again whole
