Sunny possessed a sharp wit, a brilliant intellect, and a vast knowledge of and appreciation for literature. One never had need of a dictionary when Sunny was in the room. Her passion for British literature inspired her to obtain her Master of Arts in English from UTA in 1983, all while working and raising three teenagers and two toddlers. In addition to her love for a fine novel, Sunny had a fierce affection for all things feline, classical music, and her beloved Dark Shadows.
Sunny was preceded in death by her mother Jean Ross, her father Julius Logghe, and her brother David Ross. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jerry Carter of Mansfield. Also left to mourn her passing are her daughters Susan Uribe Blakey and husband Brett of Dallas and Julie Carter of Bedford, sons David Uribe of Honolulu, HI, John Uribe of Telluride, CO, and Dan Carter of Plano, as well as granddaughters Shannon Michelle Blakey of Laramie, WY, and Brittany Marie Blakey of Lubbock.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Sunny may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
