Richard Lee Gonzalez Jr., age 45, passed away from his battle with cancer on October 7, 2022, at home surrounded by family.
Rich was born in Chicago, IL and is survived by his wife Breanna, daughter Hailey, father Richard Gonzalez, Sr, mother Jean Noe and stepfather Todd Noe, sister Charity, siblings Heather, Sarah, and Christopher, and many beloved relatives and friends.
Rich grew up and attended school in the suburbs of Chicago and then lived in many places across the country - Arizona, Arkansas, New Jersey, finally landing in his favorite home - Colorado. In 2016 he married his wife Breanna and then became a father to Hailey in 2019.
His greatest fulfillment was spending time with his family - traveling adventures with his wife and being a dad. He loved to read Hailey books, play with his childhood Matchbox cars with her, and play their special I Spy game spotting ornaments on the Christmas tree. He also loved to go fishing, cook for others, and play pool.
Rich’s legacy as Founder/CEO of Chill Steel Pipes will continue on with business partner, Justin. In 2015 he met the founders of Core Home in NYC, who recognized his creative talent and entrepreneurial spirit and re-located him to begin a phenomenal career in product design and marketing. His mentoring and experiences there led him to follow his passion and realize his dreams in launching his own company in 2020. His Chill product won the prestigious Clio Award for design innovation in 2021, has been featured in publications like Forbes, and will soon be seen in a movie. Within the cannabis community he was known as an innovator, an inspiration, and for his generosity in helping other entrepreneurs.
Rich will be remembered by everyone he touched for his compassion, integrity, loyalty, and genuine heartfulness. He was always an original that marched to the beat of his own drum
