Rick loved sports. He loved to play Basketball. He also loved watching football. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed cooking on the grill, playing dominoes, his famous quote was “Nobody, but nobody beats me in dominoes”. He also enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and spending time with his family. His favorite bands were Alabama, Hank Williams Jr. , Midland, and John Pardi. He made the best coffee and loved his desserts. During holidays we would always have a pie of every flavor and he would laugh and fill his plate with a slice of each one. He would always leave restaurants saying “I’m going to walk like a duck”. He loved his family more than anything and always worked hard to give his children the best of everything. His love was unconditional and his arms and home were always open. He always gave the best advice and did everything he could as a father to prepare his children for adulthood and everything that comes with it.
We were never prepared to lose him, but we find peace knowing he is in a better place now. A place with no more tears, no more pain , and no more fears. He used to love the song, "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me . He used to tear up as he listened to it.. Now He Knows.
"This is not goodbye, This is see you later" as his Nephew, Anthony says
One day we will be together again.
Rick was a loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father , Grandfather, and friend. He touched the hearts of many and his smile and his laughter will be forever missed.
A memorial service will be held for him on a later date, at Moore Bowen Funeral Home in Arlington Texas.
