

Sharon Elane McCoy-Johnson was born in Jefferson, Texas, on April 4, 1962, to Thomas Earl McCoy, Sr. and Elizabeth Jarrett McCoy. She passed away at the age of 61 on November 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband, Darrell Johnson.
Funeral Services for Sharon Elane McCoy-Johnson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, with Pastor Daryl Carter - Officiating, Reverend Marcus Currie-Old Testament, Reverend Daryl Pippins-New Testament, Reverend Dareon Thomas-Prayer, and Reverend Thomas McCoy Jr -Eulogy. Interment will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Moore Funeral Home.
A time of visitation will be held at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Sharon graduated from Jefferson High School in 1980 and went to Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas, where she earned her Associate of Arts degree. In December 1984, Sharon earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, where she met her husband, Darrell. Sharon continued her education at Texas Woman’s University, earning a Master of Education degree. Sharon worked for Arlington Independent School District for over 35 years, starting as an elementary school teacher and ending her career in 2018 as an elementary school counselor.
She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother (Gigi), daughter, and sister. Sharon enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She enjoyed planting flowers, decorating her home for the holidays, cooking, traveling, watching Western movies, and building memories for her family.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her mother, Elizabeth Ann McCoy of Jefferson, Texas; her loving husband of 38 years, Darrell Anthony Johnson; children, Gabriell Shanee Johnson and Elle Nicole Johnson; one grandson, Jaylen Anthony Johnson; siblings, Dr. Sandra McCoy-Jackson, and spouse, Robert Jackson, Shelia McCoy, Thomas McCoy Jr and spouse, Pamela McCoy, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins. As Sharon embarks on her eternal journey, she will be joyfully greeted by her father, Thomas McCoy Sr. Sharon’s unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
