

Tonye Clinton Benneth Dagogo-Jack was born on 22nd of April 1959 into the humble family of Late Clinton Benneth Dagogo-Jack in Ine Sukuta House of Iju (Jack) Compound and Late Madam India Oju ekine in Tengia group of houses in Obonnoma, all in Akuku Toru Local Government area in Rivers State, Nigeria.
His father was a retired civil servant until death in 2007 while his mother was a hard-working business woman who saw to the education and progress of her children, never relenting because she did not get the level of education, she wanted for herself.
Tonye was the 1st male and 2nd child of the family and was highly regarded and loved by all. Togetherness was his motto. He left behind 12 siblings that mourn him.
EDUCATION:
Tonye started his education from a very tender age at Abonnema at St. Joseph Catholic School and later proceed to St. Mary Catholic School at Aggrey Road in Port Harcourt, where he got his first school leaving certificate. He attended Stella Maris Secondary School Port Harcourt, where he graduated as a Senior School Certificate holder. He briefly worked with the Ministry of sports in Nigeria before proceeding for higher learning.
In his quest for education and to pursue his dreams, he travelled out of the shores of Nigeria to United States of America and settled in Texas which he made his second home and became a citizen of America.
In America he attended Wisconsin University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in urban planning & development and Economics. Soon after, he received his Master’s in Urban Planning & Development at the University of Texas at Arlington.
MARITAL LIFE:
Tonye’s marital life began with the lovely pursuit of his partner, Roselyn Boubai. With their unity, together they were blessed with four beautiful and healthy children (Toddy, Jacquelyn, Angelique, and Tonsel). Together they built a sturdy foundation that provided a loving and caring family home. Tonye was charismatic, loving, cheerful, and made sure he provided for his family with the upmost of his power. He was a hard-working individual, comedic, entertaining, and had so much joy in cooking for his family. Tonye took pride in making sure his family was taken care of. His presence will surely be missed
SOCIAL LIFE:
Tonye was the kind of individual that brought people together. His hospitality was very strong. Tonye was a very welcoming and easy-going person that you would feel comfortable approaching and talking to. He made many friends from all over and made the African community feel more like a family. Tonye took on various lead roles and hosted many functions in which propelled his social status among his friends. Tonye was caring and was always sought out to help dissolve any pressing matter. He will be deeply missed among his friends and loved ones.
RELIGOUS LIFE:
Tonye’s religious life in the US was an active one. He was a Catholic and believed in the Catholic faith. He went to church regularly. In the parish, Most Blessed Sacrament church, he became a Knight member of the ‘Knight of Columbus’. Being a member, he participated in a majority of the activities that took place. He helped with cooking in the kitchen to feed his fellow members, which brought him pride and joy. He loved going to church every Sunday with his family. As a family we would go eat after church and spend time together as well as look forward to the next Sunday.
DEATH:
Tonye till his death was full of life, love and a bridge builder. He loved his family, friends, in-laws and all sundry, with the tendency to light up the room with his charisma and heart-warming smiles.
Tonye's health challenge started during the midst of the pandemic. He fought hard to beat this illness medically and also praying fervently for a miracle.
He finally surrendered to will of God on 3rd of December 2022. This was a very sad day for the family of friends.
He was a loving father to his children and grandchild, a cherished brother to his siblings, a caring uncle to his nieces and nephew and faithful friend to everyone he identified with. We will forever miss him. Rest on the champ (J.J).
A visitation for Tonye will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. Tonye's funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2100 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012. The committal service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
