Died July 22, 2016 in Arlington, Va in her sleep. She was almost 91 year old.
Catherine was born in Lake Charles, LA in 1925 to Frederick & Regina (Simon) Huber.
She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1944 with a degree in Landscape Architecture.
Catherine was married to USAF Maj. William C. Maher in 1952. They were stationed in Japan, New Mexico, San Antonio, New Orleans, and Texarkana. They moved to Arlington, VA later in life.
A 40-year resident of Texarkana, Texas, she was active in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church parish council, Wednesday Music Club, and counseling for unwed mothers.
Survived by three children, Anne Richardson, Fritz Maher and Karl Maher; and two grandchildren, Jay Richardson and Hunter Maher.
Her family asks for any donations be given to help unwed mothers.
