

Clyde Edward Embrey, age 83, retired Captain of the Arlington County Police (1953-1982) and WWII veteran United States Marine Corporal stationed in China awarded Good Conduct Medal (1945-1948) died of congestive heart failure on March 13, 2013 at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia. Born on April 3rd, 1929 in SE Washington, DC to Virgie May and Berkley James Embrey, he remained in the metro DC-VA area finishing school at Jefferson JrHS, graduating from American University, marrying the late Marie Lovell, and raising his children in Northern Virginia homes purchased and renovated within Williamsburg JrHS - Yorktown HS neighborhoods. He will be remembered often and fondly-- as a dear friend, loving son, caring brother, thoughtful partner, devoted parent, cherished grandfather/Papa, good samaritan, and outdoor camping 'rise and shine' motivator. Captain Clyde E. Embrey is survived by his companion Maryse Anderson, his children Linda Embrey, Carolyn Rugloski, and Darrell Embrey and his seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and preceded in death by 4 siblings.
