Daniel John Wendell of Arlington, Virginia died suddenly on February 27, 2024, at the age of 50. Daniel left behind a wife, Seo-Jeong Yoon, and two children Benjamin, 14, and Kaitlin, 11. Daniel’s father James passed away in 2020, but he is survived by his mother Geraldine, his brothers James and Michael, nephews James and Matthew, nieces Sarah and Emily, and more cousins than one can count. To say that Dan was well-loved by his friends and community would be an understatement; and fail to illustrate how his commitment to helping those around him made his world a better place for everyone.
As a committed father, Dan had served as President of the Barrett Elementary School PTA, coached baseball and softball, and was always the first to volunteer when something needed to get done.
As an athlete, Dan played soccer, hockey, ultimate frisbee and ran, but his greatest pastime was disc golf which he played as often as he could. Dan was also an avid skier and enjoyed yearly trips with a large group of local friends.
A viewing for Dan will be held on Sunday, March 3rd, from noon until 4pm.
