Doris is predeceased by her husband, James Watson Painter.
Doris is survived by her two children, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Doris worked for the Dept. of Defense for many years and enjoyed her retirement since 1974.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 12:30 to 1:30 at Murphy Funeral Home. 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203, followed by a Funeral Service. Interment will be at Columbia Gardens.
