Bob was born March 4, 1953, the son of the late Henry Robert Schramm Sr. and Mary Donnelly. He graduated from Hanover High School in Hanover, NH in 1971, and went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Economics from Dartmouth College in 1975 and an MBA from the Yale School of Management in New Haven, Connecticut in 1991.
Bob had a long and successful career in federal service in finance and budget management. In 2021, he retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after over 20 years, leaving behind countless adoring friends and colleagues.
Bob was always the life of the party and an honorary family member to the many who loved him. He adored classic movies and television shows, regularly quoting his favorite lines with fervor or weaving them into stories that got more fantastical with each telling. He loved sports and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and all other Boston-area teams. He was a kid at heart and had magical connections with children who have endless stories of adventures with “Uncle Bob.” Friends loved his intelligence, enviable wit, lust for life, and twisted sense of humor. He was obsessed with automobiles, both classics and newer models, and loved to drive fast. He was our “Malibu Bob” -- handsome, disarmingly charming and irreplaceable. He was truly one of a kind and will live in our hearts forever.
Bob was beloved by his family and is survived by his brothers, Michael and Cronan Schramm and sisters, Anna-Maria Goodale and Amy Webster, and their families. He is also survived by his cousin, Whitney Hemstock, and her family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Allison Bowen.
Memorial contributions can be made in Bob’s name to the Capital Area Food Bank.
