Dear Bob,

I finally had the chance to reconnect with you after a year and only found this page today.  You are wonderful, and I was privileged to have known you.   This is a shock, and I will miss you.

I spent most of my time with Bob in a car being ferried about from home to party, home from party, home to concert, home from concert. I’ll remember him fondly. Bob clutching a ginormous Diet Coke in one hand, foot firmly planted on the petal, talking as fast and continuously as he drove. Me checking my purse to make sure I had with a Xanax or a migraine pill, foot firmly pressed on imaginary brake, laughing hysterically at his stories. Bob crowing endlessly about another Super Bowl win by the Patriots to everyone else’s dismay. Me realizing I would have 20 minutes in a car to hear the play by play again.
Bob was a force of nature. I was lucky to spend some time in his field.

Bob and I attended the Yale School of Management at the same time  and  were in several study groups together.  We spent a lot of time together at school and on weekends -- driving places as Bob loved to drive--and cooking as Bob loved to cook and I did not.  Though he was a good teacher!   I have Andrew Danzig  to thank for introducing me to Bob.  Bob was the life of the party, as others have attested to here and I loved that about him.  He had a super positive outlook on life and would chase away those sad days with his wit and humor.  I regret that Bob and I lost track of each other about 5 years after graduation but we reconnected at our 25th reunion and you would have thought we'd never missed a day in our friendship.   I will miss you terribly Bob.  May your light shine brightly in the heavens.

Hearing the name Bobby Schramm to many meant the life of the party will be there. To family members who also posses the sarcastic, sick wit gene, knew it meant a good time had by all. The games began the moment Bobby saw you and called your name. 
Sarcastic, sick wit spilled over from all, one topping the other, deep down belly laughs only memories can make. 
Now that his father passed Bobby was top story teller, it was our job to listen closely for a piece of a memory that might make us believe it could be the truth.
Most family members also posses the ability to make you believe in what we say, (mostly not true). The Trial Pursuit Gene!
Now it'll be up to us to keep his best stories going, (our version of course).
Bob you're a hard act to follow, so for now we will just keep you going in our stories, our memories and our HEARTS!

I worked with Bob the last 10 years of my career with the FAA and he was one of a kind.  I can't say that I know anyone else quite like Bob.  He was the center of every gathering and always had a smile and some story to tell, usually about himself!  Bob was a true asset to the FAA.  He was the face of the agency with our stakeholders at the Department of Transportation, the Office of Management and Budget, and Congress.  The biggest part of Bob's success was the fact that he was a true people person.  He connected with everyone he met and forged strong friendships with almost everyone.  My guess is that most people that worked with Bob didn't consider him a coworker or work colleague, they considered him a friend.  I will always cherish the fact that I got to know Bob, but the thing I cherish the most is that I could call him a friend!  I am sure he has a whole new group of friends in heaven!

It's hard to describe how much Bob meant to all of us at the FAA. There are countless stories describing his selfless, caring, humorous and patient nature. I first met Bob as a contractor on my first day in the agency 15+ years ago. It really struck me how much time he took from his daily work to coach and mentor young folks such as myself.  I truly felt like he cared deeply about the people around him and working with Bob always included humor and wittiness. Bob will be missed by all of those who knew him!

Bob was a wonderful person. I worked with him at the FAA for so many years. Whenever I saw him, he would tell me he has some scoop for me and we should go to lunch so he could dish. He was so much fun. His stories were hilarious. I always think about his experience with TSA and the search he was once subjected to on the way to England - he told the story with great aplomb and expression; he made it so funny. He will be missed and remembered fondly. Rest in Peace.

Bob was the NICEST guy, and a wonderful coworker. I loved when I would run into him out and about in Alexandria, and how he would sneak up on me and then laugh as I yelped in surprise. When I took on a new role at our shared place of employment, he was the first to offer support and a kind (and then funny!) word. I loved working with him and will be forever grateful to be able to say Bob was my friend.  My deepest condolences to his family. Godspeed, Bob.
