John Antunes Sousa

John was born November 6, 1982 in Washington, DC to Sebastião and Maria Aurora Sousa. He married his wife Christy Sousa on August 31, 2019 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Norwood, Massachusetts, settling together shortly after in New York City.

John attended Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia and moved on working an amazing career in construction building some of the most unique bridges throughout the DC area alongside his father.

He had a passion for cars, motorcycles, fishing, and traveling, especially to his home country Portugal with his wife where he was always at peace.

John had an infectious personality that lit up a room when he would walk into it. His energy and humor was admirable that all eyes would be on him. Every conversation and story would leave you breathless in which he had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way; and will never be forgotten.

John truly lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of it. He was, and will forever will be, our “Johnny” and “Sousa boy for life”.

John Antunes Sousa is survived by his loving wife, Christy Canto Sousa; his parents, Sebastião and Maria Aurora Sousa; a sister and brother, Elizabeth Krivoniak and Steve Sousa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.

You are truly love and will forever be missed as a loving husband and amazing son.
