

Louise Wagner, beloved wife of Colonel John E. Wagner passed away on September 26, 2015. Her death followed a long period of a slow decline in her health. Louise Wagner was born in Brooklyn, NY, August 28, 1927, the daughter of Charles Wagner and Hazel Eddy Wagner. Following her graduation from Hunter College of the City of New York, she led an active and fulfilling life as an Army Wife. She taught school in Little Rock, Arkansas, Fort Belvoir, Virginia and Ludwigsburg, Germany. Louise was active in club activities and volunteer groups. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. John’s Church at Lafayette Square, All Hallows Guild, the Rock Spring Garden Club, the Douglaston, NY Women’s Club, the Arlington and McLean branches of the American Association of University Women in Virginia, The Army Engineer Officers Wives Club, and the Army Officers Wives Club of the Greater Washington Area, where she served as Treasurer, Back Channels Newsletter Editor, Welfare Committee Chair, and Thrift Shop volunteer. She was also an Army Arlington Lady and Armed Forces Hostess Association Volunteer. Louise was a participant with her husband in activities of Drury University, the United States Military Academy, and the University of Illinois Alumni. In addition to her husband of sixty five years, she is survived by son, John E. Wagner, Jr.(Arlington), daughter, Mary Louise Wagner and her husband Kevin W. Billings and three grandchildren: Kathryn J. Billings and Alice Y. Billings.(Washington, DC) and LT James Clinton Billings, USN (Shanghai, China). Visitation will be Tuesday January 5, 2016 6-8pm, and Wednesday January 6, 2016 2-4pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA.. Funeral Services will be held January 7, 2016 9am at the Fort Myer Old Post Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery.
