Marilyn R. Landrum, age 83, of Arlington, VA beloved wife of the late Donald Landrum, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 31, 2021.
Born on April 5, 1938, in Taunton, MA, Marilyn was the loving daughter of the late John J. Sr. and Ruth I. (Baker) Grady. A resident of Arlington for many years, she worked for Galley’s Pharmacy and enjoyed volunteering her time at the Oak Ridge Elementary School and Inova Hospital. Marilyn loved organizing the annual neighborhood block party and was fondly known as the “Mayor of Lynn Street”. She will be remembered for her love of life, family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her sisters, Margaret Abney and her husband Ben of Raynham, MA; Helen Meunier and her husband Gerald of Taunton, MA. She was predeceased by her siblings; Audrey Rudy, John Grady Jr. and William Grady. Marilyn also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend its most sincere gratitude to The Fountains of Washington House staff for their compassionate care and to Marilyn’s dear friends, Tonya Finlay and the Alanko Family; Anita, Katariina, Susanna and Kristiina for their tireless love and support.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10-11 AM, immediately followed by services at the Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington. Burial will be on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn's honor to the American Cancer Society.
