
Nancy Ballard Walsh, Age 88, passed away at the Fountains of Washington in Alexandria, Virginia on July 24, 2016. She was born in Bedford, Virginia on August 25, 1927, the daughter of Henderson Suter and Ethel Davis Ballard. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Michael Walsh; her parents, Henderson Suter and Ethel Davis Ballard; and her brother, Henderson Davis “ Dave” Ballard. She is survived by her sister, Mae Ballard Kmeco; one sister-in-law, Mariane “Meg” Ballard; special first cousin, Sarah Ballard Jenkins; and numerous other cousins.
Nancy graduated from Madison College in 1948. She taught math and served as Librarian at Bassett High School in Bassett, Virginia until 1956. She was employed by the department of the Army in 1956 and retired as head Librarian at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at Fort McNair in 1979. Nancy was very active in the National Active and Retired Federal Employment Association ( NARFE) Chapter 1665 and in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 2:30pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2217 Columbia Pike, in Arlington, Virginia 22204. Visitation will precede the service at 1:30pm at Trinity and a reception will follow the service in Trinity’s Parish Hall.

Her ashes will be inurned at the Columbarium at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bedford, Virginia with a graveside service on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00pm
