Oh, Sherry, I wish I had known about this before now but after more than 50 years we lost contact with you and Phil.  I remember the party we attended at your parents' house so many years ago and look at the images from time to time.   I see I could attach one here but they are packed.  If you can see my email address here sometime, send me a message and I will see if I can find them.  So sorry.   R.I.P. Phil old friend of yesteryear.

When I lived with Aunt Binny and Uncle Johnny, Philip was just a baby.  We used to play with wooden blocks on the floor of their apartment in Buckingham.  Later I used to take him to the playground across the street or to the sandbox out back in the courtyard.(Stephen and Jimmy too.)  I suspect it was to give Aunt Binny a little breathing room but I always enjoyed it.
I'm thinking of you especially, Sherry.

Uncle Phil was a great guy and we are sorry to see him go. To Aunt Sherry, Chris & Randi, my Nicole & we hope you are doing well and you are in our prayers.We are very sorry that we were not able to make it to the funeral.

I know Uncle Phil has moved forward to wonderful rest and awaits all of us there.

How does anyone put into words a proper and meaningful look into the life of Philip Lawrence.

We were blessed and privileged to live next door to Phil and Sherry and came to know and love a man that was the very definition of character, virtue, and morality.

Phil was quite frankly the most remarkable human being we have ever known...brilliant beyond belief, extraordinarily giving of his time, stikingly generous, and most of all incredibly loving to all.

He was a rock.  A man you could always count on.  And a man you would always enjoy being with.

Medically Phil fought a long and painful battle yet through all of his struggles and setbacks he never lost the essence of who he was. 

I remain humbled by his internal strength.

Among West Pointers when we recognize a man's life and how he lived it the highest complement we can offer is captured in just two simple words:

"Well Done"

And to this most wonderful man I say:

Well Done.  Very Well Done.

Be Thou At Peace.
