I am just learning of Rachel's passing. I taught her (and Zack too) at Yorktown. She was one of the first students in my teaching career, and she made a big impression on me. I remember her very fondly as a bright and friendly young woman. She lit up the room with her smile and her personality. My condolences to her family. Rest in peace Rachel.

I used to go to Barre and Yoga classes with Rachel at Equinox. I am heartbroken to learn of her passing and send my most sincere condolences to her family and loved ones.

I’m so glad I got to see Rachel when I came back to visit Virginia, and I’m sorry she never made it out here to see Hawaii. I wish I’d thanked her for being the only person from back home that ever called to check up on how I was doing. I always acted like I was annoyed to answer the phone, but those calls always made my night. 
My deepest condolences. I will carry the memory of Rachel’s strength and tenacious resolve with me for the rest of my life as inspiration.

Rachel is one of the first friends I made when I first moved to the DC area. We met at work and she made the company feel like a family. Whenever she worked from the office, she always took some time to get to know everyone. Last time we worked together in the office, we talked about ways to live our best lives and you were willing to give me any advice I needed. 
Thank you for showing me how to lead a fearless life and be a better friend to everyone no matter who they are. Even though you are not with us anymore, I can still hear you encourage me to not be afraid of taking on life's obstacles and value every opportunity life gives you. Can't wait until we meet again!

Rachel and I worked together on the finance team at Aledade. She brought such a great energy to the team and made friends so quickly with everyone- not just in accounting but cross functionally- which is not easy to do when everything is remote! She made everyone feel appreciated and seen by just doing little things- scheduling coffee breaks, remembering birthdays, or even just sending a message to catch up. My heart goes out to her family- she was a very special person and I am glad that I got to know her and work with her.

My sweet cousin Rachel. You have always been a beautiful soul.  In your 29 years, you experienced so much.  I never found the right words to bring you comfort when you needed it and I will always regret that. I still don't know the right words...but I hope that when I see you again one day, we will both know peace and love in such a way that words won't matter anymore. Rest well.

Rachel was one of the few people across grade school who was always kind to me and treated me with affection. She lit up every room she entered and… well, I’m just crushed to hear this news. My most sincere love and affection goes out to Rachel’s family.

We only met once at a work function, but she had the energy to power an entire city! 

She was always someone that wouldn't shy away from standing up for her beliefs, and I admired that about her. 

Her accounting talents were already widely renowned among those  in the know before we even met, and it's my understanding that success of the company wide retreat where we met had a lot to do with her expertise. 

I enjoyed that whole experience a lot. 

I'm glad I was able to meet her, I'm just sorry it was the only time, she was legit awesome, and I hope her spirit is at peace.

Rachel and I went to elementary school together. My first memory or her was when her, Dana, Sara and Samantha and I would go into the sun flower garden behind Nottingham and have singing rehearsals for our childhood band. A few years later we became neighbors and we would ride bikes together and rollerblade. I remember she used to wear a snoopy and her mother would let me come inside her home before school and we would walk together. I know her Eternal Father, her Earthly Father and her best friend will be welcoming her into the Gates of Heaven and she will be singing songs of peace, walking the streets of gold for the rest of eternity. Rachel’s life was cut far too short and this place is not the same. Her spirit will always be a courageous force in the lives of those she touched. Although Rachel and I only crossed paths for a short period at work, she made an impression that will stay with me. She was always eager to help and a lot of fun, even in hard times. Just a few weeks ago we were laughing about a few silly work questions I had for her. Rachel, I hope you are released from your pain and suffering, and I hope your family can find some comfort knowing how many lives you touched.

The news of your passing has broken me. You were truly a kind and beautiful soul taken too soon. You shined a light on my life in some of my darkest times and did the same for so many others. You had endured so much hardship in your life, but always overcame with the most steadfast resiliency I've ever observed in a person. Even during your hardest times, you would always manage to light up a room with your amazing smile and your unforgettable sense of humor, and you would always be there for your loved ones when they needed you most. You certainly were for me. 

Rachel -- the positive impact you've made on my life is unquantifiable. The life lessons you taught me about love and friendship, I'll keep with me forever. I will honor you always and never forget you. I know our dog Charlie will miss you deeply and I promise I will provide her with the kind of love and care you bestowed upon her and give her the best life a dog can have in your memory. I've looked at this photo so often over the years, and wished we weren't so far away. So sorry that you have lost such a great and beautiful part of your lives. I hope that time will heal and the memories of her will bring comfort. 

So many of my high school memories are with Rachel: spending 3 weeks in Mexico together learning Spanish, her "kidnapping" me the morning of my 16th birthday, mission trip with Little Falls church, hours of guitar hero...the list goes on. 

You are and will be missed, Rachel. Sending love to everyone who knew your bright spirit. 

She never followed the crowd or the rules (haha). Rachel was always a free spirit who made you feel included. She was truly an amazing person… she will be missed. 

Rachel was my roommate freshman year of college at GMU. We were so different, but she always helped me through the hard stuff and we figured out a lot of college together. Rachel was always supportive, kind, encouraging, and there for me when I needed her. I learned so much from her and I am so devastated to hear of her passing. I am so so sorry for your loss.

You could not find someone who was as steadfast and loving as Rachel. Whether you were her friend or family, she loved you wholeheartedly and would go to the ends of the earth for you. 
Rachel always found the light in things. We both studied accounting at Mason, which is not the most exciting of subjects, and I remember having late night study sessions where we would laugh about anything and nothing.
She was a bundle of energy, which was contagious, and made anyone feel welcomed by her presence.
God has received a beautiful angel in Rachel. Love you little 🤍

Susan,  your daughter was such a lovely, vibrant spirit, full of sass and fun when she was a little girl at Nottingham. Sara enjoyed her friendship through their growing-up years.  Although it has been many years since we’ve seen each other,  I remember your family fondly. I was still living in Arlington when Rachel’s dad died, and I remember so vividly Sara’s dad, Chip, who had had the opportunity of working with him on a couple of occasions, speaking of him with the greatest respect.  You have sustained tragedy compounded upon tragedy. Oh, Susan, I send you a measure of strength and resilience, and I hope your happy memories bring some solace in this time of unimaginable mourning.

I’ll always remember our Freshman Year PE class at Yorktown! Such a funny, quirky girl who always told you like it was. We kept in touch every now and then thanks to Instagram, but I cannot believe she’s gone. May she Rest In Peace. 

Dear Hargreaves Family:

I worked with Rachel so I haven't been in her life for as long as others have, but although my time with her was more brief, but I still felt like I experienced all the light and joy that she had to offer. When she started working with us, I was so excited to finally have another woman around my age on the team. I remember immediately sending her a message welcoming her and that we should set up time to meet. We had coffee chats every two weeks to vent about anything and everything and I had my own good news about a recent test result that I couldn't wait to share with her. Whenever I was stressed about it, I just thought, if Rachel can do it, so can I. 

Now I can't stop thinking about her and how she would get through this, given how strong she had proven herself to be. I hope that your entire family can know how loved she was. I keep talking to her, asking her to help me and all of her loved ones accept that she's in a peaceful and loving place, watching over us all. 

Rachel, thank you for the time that you gave us.

The memories I have of Rachel are from when I was very young. Although I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing her in her adulthood, I know that she was a beautiful soul. Heaven gained another angel. Although this is a challenging time, take comfort in knowing that she is with  her daddy and that they are ALWAYS with you. If you need anything, know that we are here for you.
