

Richard F. (Tony) Coleman, age 93, passed away peacefully at Spring Hills Assisted Living Facility in Alexandria, Virginia, on Sunday January 18, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Evelyn, who passed just five months ago.
Born September 19, 1921, Tony was a life-long resident of Arlington. He graduated from Washington-Lee High School and was a devout parishioner of both St. Ann and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Churches during his life. Tony served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. Upon honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he returned to Arlington and began a career lasting over 39 years with PEPCO in Washington, D.C.
Tony will be remembered for his passion to understand how things worked, which allowed him to repair anything and everything. Upon retirement from PEPCO, he and his wife enjoyed their winters in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Survivors include: five daughters, Diane (Allan) Roeser, Terri (Karl) Kriegel, Patricia Moore, Eileen (Thomas) Cutrona, and Kathy (Brad) Olson; four sons, Richard Jr., Michael, John, and Joseph; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are welcome for visitation and prayer services to be held on Monday January 26, 2015, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Murphy's Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22205. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 3304 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA 22201 on Tuesday January 27, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the Mass at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032.
