on Friday 16 November Nelson Harvey passed away at his home from lung cancer. He was born 10 October 1928 in Appomattox, Virginia. He lived in Sterling, Virginia for 35 years. He has been a resident of Northern Virginia for over 75 years. He retired as Supervisor of Athletics in Loudoun County in 1990. He was a 1947 graduate of W&L High School in Arlington, Virginia and he received his Bachelors, Masters and PHD from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Elizabeth “Libby” Harvey of the residence in Sterling. He is also survived by three sons, Bob of Sterling, Jack of Falls Church and Mike (Valerie) of Bridgewater, Virginia; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Kathryn “Kitty” Brooks (Al) of Haymarket, Virginia. Arrangements are being made by Murphy Funeral Homes and Columbia Gardens Cemetery.
