Robert "Ned" Edmund NOONAN Jr., age 58, of Washington, District of Columbia sailed away to go fishing with God, his dad, and his grandfather in heaven on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Ned was born August 20, 1962.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved partner in life and in laughter, Lisa Uliasz, his mother Ruth (Puckett) Noonan, his brother Charles “Chip” Noonan, his sister Nancy Noonan, his brother-in-law John Odenwelder and his much-loved nieces and nephews, Ian, Megan, Ellie, Ryan, and Lily. Ned was predeceased by his father Robert “Bob” Edmund Noonan Sr. He will also be missed by his canine relatives, Cooper and especially, Bandit and Luna. Woof! Woof!
Ned lived life with zest and on his own terms. He loved the outdoors and was an Eagle Scout. He went on many adventures. He backpacked all over the world including Europe, Japan, Thailand, and the USA. Ned even ran with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. He worked security during the 1980 Olympics in Los Angeles. Ned was an EMS/Ski Patrol in Park City, UT. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, visiting museums and was an avid reader.
Ned secretly aspired to be a stand-up comedian. Even though that aspiration never happened; anyone who ever met him, quickly realized he was a joker with a ready smile and a silly observation. He loved to laugh and making others laugh with him. Ned always pointed the way to fun.
And at the end of every pleasant meal or event, Ned would exclaim, “Well, that was delightful!”
