Sharon Love Palumbo passed on October 1, 2019 in her home after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Francis Palumbo. They were married for 31 years. She is survived by their son, Scott Palumbo, wife Amy, and their grandchildren Abbey and Casey Palumbo. She is also survived by her siblings, Sheila Love, Maureen and husband David Muse; Michael and Kevin Love and nephew Jonathan Prove and his children, Lyla and Jackson. She attended Radford University and graduated from UVA with a degree in English. She also had a Master in Liberal Studies from John Hopkins University. She worked initially in banking in DC, also worked abroad at the UN in Switzerland using her multiple language skills, worked at Johns Hopkins in medical admissions and the National Gallery of Art as a children’s tour docent. She also helped to raise their son Scott and nephew Jonathan, until her illness took over. She loved to sail, travel and was active in various sports. She loved to read, seek culture, garden, and music. She loved to entertain, care for others especially her family, grandchildren and friends. She will be admired and missed by many. Visitation will be at Murphy’s in Falls Church, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046 on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6:30-8:30 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7th at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church located at 3513 N Street NW, Georgetown, Washington, DC. A reception will follow in McKenna Hall at Holy Trinity Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sending memorial contributions to Georgetown University School of Medicine - Don Knowlan, MD Scholarship Fund. Special thanks to all the caretakers over the last 14 years. Her nurses, aides, her doctors, her friends and family that helped her each and every day. We are so thankful.
