I am so sad and sorry for those he left behind. I know he is in a better place now. He affected my life as few have.

Steve was a very fun brother in law. His life journey wasn't always an easy road. May he find comfort in his eternity.  My prayers and condolences to his family and to my sister Pam.

Steve was my first boss when i was a baby management intern in DGC, back in the day.  And later a fond colleague in DGC and later DIS.  He was always supportive, helpful, fun and had a special zest for life.  Condolences to family and Steve's many friends, including Pam and Rick.

Steve, You were always a bright light in my days at NSF.  I learned so much from you.  I'm glad you lived your life to the fullest.  Alice (Frapolli) Fierstein.

I will really miss my Uncle Steve. He was one of my Dad's best friends, my brother's Godfather, and such a light in our lives. I will always remember his great laugh and his kind, warm heart. He made all of our family get-togethers more fun and I always looked forward to seeing him. I will treasure my memories of him forever.

Steve's love of travel has now taken him on his final safari adventure where things never seen or experienced here on earth endure forever.  

I imagine that when looking up at the star filled sky, Steve is shining brightly in the heavens, fishing rod in one hand and a beer (or bourbon) in the other, a pack of Winstons in his shirt pocket, his Kindle by his side, and the requisite cup of coffee near by! God bless you Steve!  Your hard road of recent time has led you to eternal, pain free peace!  Gone, but not forgotten as you continue to live in all of us!

Steve was one of the greatest bosses I've ever had.  We became friends and he even paid for my first charity golf tournament.  Needless to say, our group came in last place every year--was this because of me or Steve?  Steve gave me great advice and provided me with the opportunity to come to NSF since he was the one who hired me.  Steve will truly be missed.  What a great man!

My condolences to Steve's family and friends.  I had the privilege of working with Steve at NSF.  Steve's knowledge of contract management, as well as budget & financial planning was second to none.  Steve was extremely valuable to NSF and especially DIS.  We accomplished a lot and had a lot of fun & laughter along the way.   I will always treasure the memories.  Rest In Peace My Friend!

Steve was a funny, easy-going guy, and I wish I had seen more of him.  We
were patrols together at Lone Oak Elementary, and I was his Lieutenant.  
We went to Broome Junior High and graduated from Richard Montgomery
High School together.  That is a long time to know someone, and it makes
it harder to say good bye.  He fought this illness as hard as he could, and
now he is at peace.  I will miss him.

While I haven't been in Steve's presence for a number of years, he has always been one of those eternal friends. Our relationship started in junior high school.  While I won't be able to come from Alabama to the funeral, I certainly feel Steve's spirit and know that he has found eternal rest and peace. Steve was very special to us in DIS.  He was both a friend and a mentor to me.  He will be greatly missed.

Thanks, Steve, for your friendship of more than 55 years and for all the kindness, big laughs and so many great memories you gave to me. My deep sadness is eased by so many thoughts about all of the good times we shared. We should have kept a diary and written a book!

Steve was a long time friend and colleague from our NSF days. We have many fond memories of Steve. But what stands out is that he was a genuinely nice person and always ready to help do whatever needed doing, and always with a upbeat attitude. He was fun to be around and he and Pam brightened many after work sessions. It was good to learn that Rick and Pam supported him to the end. Our deepest sympathies to Pam and to the families.

I started Kindergarten and my friendship, which was well over 60 years, with Steve in 1949 at the First Baptist Church kindergarten at S. Washington and Jefferson Streets in Rockville...all on through elementary, jr. and sr. high... We played sports, cajoled, lauged and even cried when we laughed too hard throughout life.  All through the years his kindness and love of life prevailed..and I miss my friend.....

To light the way home as you rest in the house of the Lord forever!

May your light continue to shine down upon us as you RIP in the house of the Lord forever and ever.  We will miss you and your laughter!
