In January 1970, she came to the United States to receive further training at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, NJ earning her ASCP Board of Certification in Medical Technology.
She was self-driven and ambitious, which is reflected by her life long career working in blood bank and donor transfusion service at various hospitals and health institutions in New Jersey, Maryland, Hawaii, Colorado, Virginia and South Carolina. Later in life, she went back to school and earned her Specialist in Blood Banking at the National Institute of Health as well as, earning two Master Degrees — Master of Science in Business Administration and Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Maryland.
A true adventurer, Vicky enjoyed life and was not afraid of change. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, playing mahjong and was fond of getting manicures and pedicures. More importantly, she enjoyed sharing her life experiences, always encouraging others to believe in themselves and to “go for their dreams.”
