

Alan Lee Estrella, 67, of Arlington Washington, passed away on Wednesday January 20, 2016. He was born in Santa Clara, California on December 27th 1948 to Leo and Irene Estrella. Alan graduated from Soquel High School in 1967, and then went on to attend Cabrillo College where graduate in 1969. He continued his education at San Diego State University earning his bachelor’s degree in 1975. Alan fell in love with the late Pamela Christine Walborn and made her his bride on April 5, 1975 in Spring Valley California (Lemon Grove).
While still attending Cabrillo College Alan joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1969-2000. Alan served his country for a total of 31 years, earning the rank Of Chief –E7. During this time he was honored with the Gold Wreath Award. Alan also served in the Army National Guard. Alan’s military life did not end in 2000. He took a position at the Everett Naval Base, as a Personal Support Detachment-GS6. Alan held this position for the last 12 years until his passing.
Alan had many hobbies and interest. He belonged to the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America. He also loved trains, guns, fishing, and golfing and bowling. Some of the best qualities of Alan were being a loving, caring, giving, strong willed man. Most of all, he was extremely organized.
Alan is survived by two children: Jennifer Simm, of Surrey, British Columbia Canada; Eric Estrella, of Seattle, Washington; two sisters; Robin Batinovich, of Salinas, California; Lynn Rutledge, of Lodi, California; brother; Chris Estrella, of Santa Cruz,California; and one grandchild; Travis Simm.
Alan and Pamela will be laid to rest together, forever and always.
