

Carol Ann Barstow, age 84, of Arlington, Washington, passed away on December 15, 2023. She was born on April 18, 1939, in Everett, Washington, to William and Helen Phillips. Carol was a proud mother and grandmother, finding joy in sharing stories and photos of her family. She had a passion for decorating and had a keen eye for bright colors and flowers. In her younger years, Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed taking long walks with her close friends.
Carol is survived by her children, Bruce Barstow (Vicki), Cindy White (Lucky), grandchildren Andria White (Chad), Jake White (Jenevie), Megan Turner (Josh), Jessica Stevens, Blake Stevens (Alexa), Kyle Stevens (Wiji), and her great grandchildren, Piper, Charlee, Lexi, Lily, Parker, Taylor, Kara and Kit. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard Barstow, her parents, William and Helen Phillips, her sister, Beverly Atterson, and her granddaughter, Jolene White.
Carol attended Pilchuck High School in Marysville, Washington. While her primary role was that of a homemaker and Forest Service wife, she often reflected fondly on her two-year career as a legal secretary. She also loved working part-time as a preschool assistant. She resided most of her adult life in Darrington moving to Arlington later on.
In honoring Carol's wishes, there will be no formal service. However, to celebrate her sweet tooth, the family will gather to indulge in a sweet goodbye in the near future.
