

February 29, 1944 – May 18, 2014
Harold a lifelong resident of Oso, WA, passed away quietly at his home as he had wished on May 18th. Harold was a spirited young man who enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17. He served in Korea, U.S. Calvary 9th Division and was a proud member of the American Legion Post 76 for 28 years. A true marksman, he loved the outdoors. Returning from the Army he married Sandy Gilbert and they had 2 beautiful children during their 13 year marriage. After retiring from Summit Timber in Darrington, WA, Harold helped his sister Carlene on her farm in Oso. Many good haying parties were had there. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing and picking wild mushrooms. He always shared his bounty with family and friends. He had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed. Harold is preceded in death by his parents Eva and Otto Main and sister Carlene Bunker. He leaves behind a loving son Dan Main of Darrington and daughter Shannon of Yakima, WA, two wonderful grandchildren, Garret and Angelina and his extended family of lifelong buddies from the Oso Valley. A memorial potluck gathering will be held for friends and family at the Oso Fire Hall June 7th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., 21824 State Route 530 NE, Oso, WA.
