Hugh Lee Jernigan

Hugh Lee Jernigan, 82, passed to be with the Lord, February 14, 2012 in Everett, WA. He was born to John and Elizebeth Jernigan June 12, 1929 in Benson, NC. Hugh's career spanned a variety of industries but his love was 30 years as a landscaper, retiring in 2002. He was a lifelong Baptist. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All who knew Hugh, know that he was the most caring and loving man around. His work ethic was unsurpassed; he was always willing to help and loved everybody that came his way. Preceding Hugh in death was his son Edward Lee Jernigan; brothers, John Jr., Warren, Lloyd, Donald; sisters, Myrtle, Ruby, Cartha, Rosaleen, Geraldine. Surviving Hugh is his loving wife of 50 years Joyce Ann Jernigan of Everett; children, Janice (Robert) Rutledge of Liberty, NC, Bill Jernigan of Everett, WA, Judy (Todd) Olson of Sedro Woolley, WA, Ron Jernigan of Marysville, WA, Keith (Tammy) Jernigan of Arlington, WA, Joseph (Tracy) Jernigan of Stanwood, WA, Mary (Steven) Thompson of N. Lakewood, WA; siblings Bobby Jernigan of Smithfield, NC, Lois May of Elon College, NC, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held beginning at 10 a.m. just before the funeral service, 12 noon Friday, February 17, 2012; at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, 1272 State Route 530 NE, Darrington, WA. A graveside service will follow at Darrington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jernigan family to help with funeral expenses.
