

Madelane P. Christensen, 71, went to be with the Lord, March 12, 2011. She was born to Samuel and Meriden Hatch June 9, 1939, in Barre, VT. Madelane graduated from Spalding High School in 1957, and received her LPN from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID in 1975. Madelane was blessed with 8 children, which included 2 sets of twins, and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who was full of energy, hard-working, adventurous, strong, witty, funny, and creative with many talents such as cooking, sewing, gardening, oil painting, and making ceramics. She loved spending time with her family camping and fishing. She was a big Seattle Mariners fan and never liked to miss a game. She loved playing card games such as cribbage and loved an opportunity to go to the casino. Preceding Madelane in death was her beloved husband of 27 years, William August Christensen in 2002, daughter Meriden Alice Barnhill in 2003; brothers, Stanley and Benjamin Hatch. Surviving Madelane are her children, Robert Lee Wiltse Jr. and wife Susan of Witchita, KS, Samuel Benjamin Wiltse and wife Mary of Kennewick, WA, Sean Patrick August Christensen and wife Danna of Arlington, WA, Sherri W. Collings and husband John of Grand Forks, ND, Terri Lee VanAuken and husband Gary of LaCrosse, WA, Michelle Reneé Asplund and husband Jon of Troy, ID, Margie Jane Thorngren and husband Craig of Arlington; sisters, Marjorie Fisher of Willbraham, MA, Marleen Roy, of Barre, VT, Geraldine Hawkins of Glenarm, IL and 11 grandchildren, whom were her pride and Joy. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 18, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA 98223. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Madelane’s name to Rabbit Haven, P.O. Box 2268, Gig Harbor, WA 98335, (253) 208-4206.
