

Steven D. Thurman, 63, of Arlington, Washington, passed away suddenly on September 18, 2014. Steven was born September 16, 1951 to William and Marylyn Thurman in Peoria, Illinois. He moved with his family to Washington, where he attended Redmond High School. Steven, a Vietnam veteran, served in the Marine Corps from 1970 to 1972. He married his loving wife Kathy in 1972 in Winterhaven, California, and together they raised two daughters.
Steven was a construction drywall foreman until he retired in 1999. He was a fan of hot rods, classic cars, and car shows. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and loved to fly his plane in Alaska. He was a strong and loving person who deeply cared about his children and grandchildren.
Steven is survived by his wife, Kathy of Arlington, Washington; his daughters, Stephanie Keimig of Arlington, Washington, and Rachel Thurman of Marysville, Washington; his mother, Marylyn Thurman of Vega, Texas; his sister Linda Jackson of Vega, Texas; and his brother Kevin Thurman of Vega, Texas. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
A visitation for Steven’s family and friends will be held at Weller Funeral Home, on Friday, September 26th, from 1pm to 7pm. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 1:00pm at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA 98223, followed by burial at 2:00pm at Arlington Municipal Cemetery, 20310 67th Ave. N.E., Arlington, WA 98223. A reception will follow.
