Donald Edward Seda was born March 4, 1940, in Rombauer, MO, the son of Adolph Seda and Mabel Fowler Seda. He graduated from McBride High School in St. Louis, MO. Following graduation, he ventured into his calling as a brother in the Society of Mary. He received a degree in history at St. Mary’s University and began teaching. He taught in Victoria, TX, and Chaminade High School in St. Louis. After many prayers, he realized brotherhood was not his true calling and left. He began his lay life, and it wasn’t long before Uncle Sam greeted him, and he served in the U.S. Army.
Shortly after his return, he met Rona Kalbfell. He married Rona on February 1, 1969, at St. Dominic Savio Catholic Church in Affton, MO. They celebrated 52 years of marriage on February 1, 2021.
Donald had a career in sales. He loved his family very much and adored his granddaughters. He enjoyed spending time with his family and with friends each morning for breakfast and coffee. He also served at the VFW and American Legion and was active in his community government and political organizations.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and wife Rona. He is survived by his sons Donald Seda, Jr. and Daniel Seda, both of St. Louis, MO, and Michael (Julie) Seda of Columbia, MO. Also surviving are his granddaughters, Sarah and Sophia Seda.
