Norman D. Smith, 87, of Arnold, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at his home in Arnold. He was born June 14, 1928, the son of Harrison and Opal Smith (nee Absheer). He was a member of Local #513 Operating Engineers from May 25, 1949 to Aug. 30, 2015.
Norman is survived by one sister, Hazel Brewer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amy Smith (nee Thiesen); two brothers, Elmer and Curtis Smith; and two sisters, June Hartnett and Kathryn Pichon.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sept. 2 at the Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, Mo. Funeral services will be held on Sept. 3 at 10 a.m., with Larry Absheer officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Piedmont, with Wayne Pichon, John Flieg, Joel Brame, Nick Bommarito, Larry Absheer, and Bob Pace serving as pallbearers. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
