Dorothy Frances Smithey

Dorothy was a devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she found great comfort in her faith and fellowship. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving son, David A. (Lillian) Smithey of LaGrange, Ohio; her cherished granddaughter, Olivia Smithey of Highland Heights, Ohio; her adoring step-grandson, Aaron Doezema of LaGrange, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Smithey; her infant son, Scott Smithey; her mother, Wilma Kagley; her father, A. R. Olive; her brother, Harold Olive; and her sister, Ann Olive.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Dorothy’s life at a memorial service to be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 7:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church, 605 Dotson Memorial Rd, Maryville, TN 37801.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Dorothy’s honor.
