Joyce was born on June 13, 1939 in Monongah, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Cleon and Mary (Satterfield) Shaver. Joyce was a 1957 graduate of Madison High School. She retired after 32 years as an office supervisor with Prudential. At the center of Joyce’s life was her family whom she cherished and valued every moment they spent together. She especially enjoyed family vacations to Florida.
She is survived by her son, Luke Lomax; grandchildren, Bethany and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Brand and Edison; her sisters, Carolyn Shafer and Ronda (Brad) Kazebee; and other cherished family and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Paul Shafer.
Family and friends may visit from 10:00-11:00 am on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ashland, 308 Claremont Ave. Pastor Josh Cehulik will officiate the funeral service beginning immediately at 11:00 am.
