He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah Childress; brother, John Childress; mother-in-law; sister-in-law; two nephews; half-sister; and five step-sisters.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 26, at 2 p.m. in Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd., Hanover, Va. 23069.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
