Carlton “Shorty” Cortez Nuckols, Sr., 88, of Beaverdam, went to be with the Lord, Friday March 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Mary Nuckols; sisters, Gretna Walton, Elizabeth Davis; brother, Aubrey Nuckols, Jr. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 68 years, Marie Alise Nuckols; children, Pamela Camphuysen (Les), Gail Hall, Carlton C. Nuckols, Jr. (Shirley), Danny Nuckols (Carol), James Nuckols, John Nuckols; 14 grandchildren, 26 greatgrandchildren; 5 great-greatgrandchildren; sister, Barbara Sprouse.
Carlton was a talker, with a great memory and the stories he told, always made his family laugh. He was a hard worker and taught his children and many of his grandchildren the value of hard work. He was a loving husband, and father and will truly be missed. He served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
A graveside service will be held 1 PM Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Hillcrest Cemetery.
