She is preceded in death by her parents and she was the last of 7 children.
Ernie spent many years as a Floral Designer and retired from the profession. She was a faithful Christian and enjoyed traveling, gardening and sewing. She had great love for all of her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Billy W Melton; sons, Joseph Inge (Pamela), Stephen Inge (Amy); and daughter, Mary Catherine Ashworth. She is also survived by Ronald and Steve Melton and their families as well as her grandchildren, Ashley, Jason, Tori, Hailey, Chad, Brandon, Patricia, Becky, Josh, and Kate; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Catherine will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. Interment will follow at Winns Baptist Church, 12320 Winns Church Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23059.
