

Charles Lindbergh "Lindy" Kehoe of Ashland, Virginia passed away at home on June 24, 2016. Lindy was born in Bel Air, Maryland on May 20,1927 to James H. Kehoe Sr. and Ethel M. Davis. He is survived by brother, Stirling Kehoe; sister, Genevieve Snodgrass, and the loving memory of his oldest brother, James H. Kehoe, Jr.; children, Daniel (wife, May Liang Kehoe), Jeffrey (wife, Diane Cavrell Kehoe), Matthew, Marianne (husband, Scott Mayo), and the loving memory of his first born son, Brian; grandchildren, Pierce and Griffin Mayo, Jackson, Isabella, and Lucas Kehoe.
Lindy spent his growing years in Bel Air, MD. As a young man he served two years in the US Marine Corps following WWII. He then spent his college years at the University of Maryland, competing in Track, Cross Country, and Tennis. Lindy continued to enjoy playing tennis, running, and working outdoors throughout his life. Lindy married Judith Newell in 1961, with whom he raised his 5 children. All of Lindy's working years were devoted to the University of Maryland in College Park. He cared for the athletic fields, facilities, and university grounds with uncommon dedication. He retired from his position as Grounds Superintendent in the mid 1980's. Since 2005, Lindy has spent his years enjoying the country of Central Virginia.
