Charles Allen Sharpe

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lenwood Carey Sharpe, Sr.; and maternal grandfather, Charles Allen Miller. Charles was most proud of being a father. He was a devoted family man who put his family above everything. He also took great pride in his career as an electrician. He worked 40 + hours a week while attending night school to earn his Journeyman license and generator maintenance certification. When not working, he enjoyed spending time outside watching the sky and reading. He was also an avid gun, knife and coin collector. He enjoyed sharing his random abundance of knowledge of many subjects. He was a sensitive, caring “man’s man”. His greatest blessing was raising his daughter, Ayden. In addition to his daughter, left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ashley Cauthorne-Sharpe; parents, Brenda and Andrew Sharpe, Sr.; grandmother, Martha Sharpe; siblings, Andrew Sharpe, Jr., Danielle Sharpe, Tina Sharpe, Cindy (Drew) Perry and Lillie (Corey) Murphy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Charles’s family will receive friends on Monday October 30, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday October 31, 2017 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005. A funeral service will be held at Hanover Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm with interment to follow at Kenwood Cemetery.
